George Manners Grantham, a graduate of Waveland High School, died in Lansing, Michigan, Saturday June 13, death resulting from repeated cerebral hemorrhages. He was the son of Thomas and Lillie Grantham and was born in Ladoga, March 5, 1899. He had been in the classes of H.M. Dixon in the New Richmond schools and came here with him and graduated with the class numbering Hubert Loudermill, Harry Bain, Madge Spruhan, Joe Huston, Edith Gilkeson and Jessie Alspaugh. He entered Michigan Agricultural College in Lansing, specializing in agronomy and after a number of years as assistant became the head of that department. He held degrees from the University of Illinois and University of Nebraska. He was a member of the Methodist Church. December 22, 1914, he married Jeanette Hazen, who survives with three children: Richard Grantham of Chicago; Mrs. Kenneth Tillotson of Petosky, Michigan and Lt. Ruth Grantham of Rantoul Field, Illinois. There are thee grandchildren. Funeral services on Monday in East Lansing. -- kbz
